MIAMI, FL- On February 2, 2020 was the LIV Super Bowl, it was held at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. The two teams that played this year were the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs. The game started with the 49ers in the lead then the game started to go back to back.

The Chiefs starting quarterback Patrick Mahomes won the MVP for the game. He led Kansas City with two touchdowns in the fourth-quarter. The Chiefs held on a strong defense for the last few minutes of the game. They held the 49ers scoreless for more than 15 minutes for the final quarter.

The Super Bowl ended in a great finale, the Chiefs went down by double-digits with only two minutes left in the third quarter. “The Chiefs used an epic fourth-quarter comeback to win their first Super Bowl title in 50 years, and there’s a lot to go over.”(Jared Dublin, 2020) Mahomes started to focus more in the last quarter, there was only 8 minutes and 33 seconds left.

The reason that Kansas City Chiefs won the Superbowl game was because of Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes and Tyreek Hill, wide receiver, ran many passes on multiple occasions to get in the lead. Mahomes is known for doing certain things that many other players can’t achieve, even though he was pulled back for three and a half quarters of the game. Mahomes wasn’t playing his best throughout the three quarters but then he decided to pull through and a miracle occured. He is currently the best quarterback in the world, and with the fact that he started of rough in the beginning of the game and bounced back to winning the superbowl proves he is.

While the 49ers were holding the Chiefs by 10 points all through the third quarter, the 49ers gave up 21 points in the last 7 minutes of the fourth quarter. The Chiefs ran 71 plays before the game officially ended while the 49ers just didn’t have the energy to really compete against them. The Chiefs hadn’t won the Superbowl since 1970. The final game score was 31 Kansas City Chiefs to 20 San Francisco 49ers.
