World’s Tallest Statue in India

INDIA- The world’s tallest statue was recently built in India, which cost 403 million dollars to build. The statue is being known as the “ Statue of Unity.” It is a tribute to independence leader Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. There are many opinions based on the statue, some explaining how it’s a good tourist sight or a waste of money.

Mr. Modi revealed the statue at a grand event, it said “A symbol of India’s integrity and resolve.” The Air Force showered flowers over the statue, it was designed and decorated by Ram V Sutar. At the event there were a thousand police officers from across the district that detained people from an activist during a protest on Tuesday. After being created it was announced at 594 feet tall, it was nearly twice as tall as the New York’s Statue of Liberty.

The statue is located in Kevadiya, which is a village in Gujarat state. It was said that the statue was a way of Modi to showcase India’s statue as a superpower. The statue will have a museum with 40,000 documents, 2,000 photographs, and a research center dedicated to Patel’s life and work.

The Statue of Unity was built in dedication to “Iron Man” Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who served as the first home minister of India. It was 23 meters taller than China’s Spring Temple Buddha statue. It was built within three and a half years by an army of over 3,000 workers. The Statue of Unity will also be able to stand through wind velocity up to 60 miles per second, with the vibration of earthquakes. With the height of the statue it is now pronounced at the tallest statue in the world currently.
