LMC HIGH SCHOOL- As the regular basketball season comes to a close, the varsity boys are preparing themselves for the district tournament.

The boys finished their season 14 – 6. The team has a positive outlook on their district schedule and hope to win the title.

On Monday, Covert and Michigan Lutheran kick off districts, here, at the LMC gym at 6:00. The varsity boys will then play River Valley, which the team has beaten before during the regular season, 63- 13, at 7:30 PM.

Dream Academy will play Lawrence on Monday night as well, but the two teams will play at Lawrence rather than at Lake Michigan Catholic, the host school. Countryside has a bye game on Monday.

If the boys win their first game on Monday, they will then play Countryside on Wednesday. The first time that these two teams met, LMC lost to Countryside in a close game, 48-51. But the second time that LMC and Countryside played, LMC won, 73-38.

So long as they make it to the finals, LMC’s opponent will either be either Lawrence, Dream Academy, Covert, or Michigan Lutheran. All of these teams have been beaten by the LMC Lakers earlier this season.

Even though the Lakers have beaten all of these teams, they only beat ML after going into overtime both times they played.

That being said it seems that the odds are in the Laker boys favor, so good luck to them as they kick off district against River Valley at 7:30.
